Fig Tree cottage, in the picuresque village of Appledore, is very close to all amenities and the ferry across the estuary to the beautiful sandy beach of Instow. You will be a short walk from some excellent pubs, restaurants and cafés. Not forgetting John's of Appledore, our local deli! Appledore with its narrow, winding, cobblestone streets, secret passages and steps make it an ideal choice for family seaside holidays at any time of the year. Lots of exploring to be done in and around Appledore: crabbing from the Quay, wonderful dog walks on the vast neighbouring beach of Northam Burrows and Westward Ho! Visits to Saunton Sands, Braunton, Tapely Park and Rosemoor Gardens. Lots of family fun to be had at the nearby Big Sheep and the Milky Way. The annual Regatta and the Appledore Book Festival are not to be missed and attract many well-known personalities. Golf and riding are available locally. Child and dog friendly shops, restaurants, pubs 100 yards.
The cottage is situated in a quiet, elevated location with a suntrap terrace and secure garden looking over the rooftops to the Torridge Estuary. Parking is at a premium in Appledore but fortunately Fig Tree has its own garage! Originally a fisherman's cottage, Fig Tree has now been renovated and offers a contemporary interior comprising of:
- Living room/dining area with Freeview TV, DVD player. Beautiful solid oak floor giving a warm cottage atmosphere.
One step up to:
- Kitchen with electric oven, gas hob, microwave, dishwasher. Leading to the utility with washing machine and downstair's toilet.
Cottage stairs up to the first floor:
- Double bedroom with 140cm bed and Freeview TV
- Twin bedroom with two 2'6" beds
- Bathroom with large walk-in shower, toilet and heated towel rail
Soft and cosy pure wool carpets throughout the first floor. The cottage has gas central heating, gas, electricity, bed linen, towels and WiFi included. Enclosed terraced garden with patio, garden furniture and barbeque. Large carport for one car with very narrow access road. There are 13 steep steps from the parking area, through the garden down to the cottage. Not suitable for those with reduced mobility. No smoking in the cottage.
